According to media reports, Zahid was on leave at the time. The owner of the food centre where the robbery took place, Adil Jan, admitted to investigators that he knew the suspect. Jan revealed that they had been having money problems and that Zahid had taken him to Surjani Town and left him there.
Based on Jan’s identification, paramilitary officers raided Zahid’s house and arrested him. They seized Rs 1.8 million in cash and other items.
