Police have released images of a white truck as they investigate the death of an as-yet unidentified man, whose body was found by a passer-by on the side of a road more than 15 hours after he was last seen.
A man has died after a multi-vehicle crash in Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Two vehicles collided at the intersection of Pittwater Road and Vineyard Street in Mona Vale. One of the drivers died at the scene, while the other is being treated in hospital. Motorists are being asked to avoid the area due to heavy traffic.
The man, whose identity has not yet been officially confirmed, died on Sunday morning after he was struck by a vehicle in Trafalgar, about 120 kilometres east of Melbourne’s central business district.
His body was found by a passer-by around 10:30 a.m. after the driver of the vehicle “failed to stop at the scene.”
Police believe the man was struck by the vehicle earlier that morning or sometime during the night along Waterloo Road, east of Davey Drive.

He was last seen walking east along Waterloo Road, near Middle Road, at about 7.10pm on Saturday, more than 15 hours before his body was found.
On Tuesday, police released CCTV footage of a medium-sized white truck seen travelling east on Waterloo Road at around 7.10pm on Saturday evening.
Police “expect the driver to be able to assist them with their investigation.”
The investigation into the man’s identity continues, with officers exploring “various avenues of investigation.”

Police previously reported that the man is believed to be in his 60s.
“He was wearing a black tracksuit, a white checked shirt, black tracksuit bottoms with two white stripes down the sides and no shoes,” police said.
Detective Peter Romanis of the Major Collision Investigation Unit told reporters Monday that there were “fragments of glass, plastic and turn signals” at the scene, with debris “scattered over a considerable distance.”
